Hi Meta!

Nice to meet you, I'm Serina, a recent graduate from UCI with a degree in marketing & a minor in psychological science. I am passionate about combining creativity with data to develop solutions to any challenges that come my way. I made this webpage to showcase some of my proudest accomplishments, qualifications, and to express to you how excited I am about the opportunity to contribute my project management skills to the Reality Labs team!

why meta?

Throughout my college career, I almost exclusively interned at fast-paced startup companies. I love being in an environment where I can use my creativity, collaborate with others, and use data to craft unique solutions to any task that I work on. I love challenging myself to work on different projects that I am passionate about in work, on-campus organizations, and in my own personal life. As a recent graduate with a hunger to learn more about project management, I am excited to have the opportunity to apply the skills I’ve gained from college & through work experiences to be an exceptional addition to the Reality Labs team.

As a Marketing Assistant at Pixel, a digital marketing consulting startup, I worked on optimizing the client booking experience on Canon’s ImageConnect photographer booking site & led a brand campaign with a $40k budget. In addition to the campaign, I also led creative concepting to promote and improve marketing surrounding the Canon Ivy printer geared towards Gen Z. I conducted research and provided recommendations on trending themes, notable influencers, and design styles to be integrated into the product.

As Internal Vice President of Marketing Association, I aimed to turn our social channels into educational resources for all things marketing. I monitored social algorithms and created meeting recaps which were searchable content posts that provided students with career advice from other students and industry professionals. This initiative grew our Facebook reach by 307.5% and our Instagram reach by 144.3% in the past year and is still an ongoing series on our social channels!

I would love to have the opportunity to work on high-impact projects in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where people are passionate about what they do. Coming from a startup background (working mostly remote), I am enthusiastic about working in dynamic environments and enjoy taking the initiative to craft creative marketing strategies. Through my past experiences, I believe that I have developed the project management, communication, and problem-solving skills that would make me a versatile and invaluable addition to the Reality Labs team!

my personal blog project.

Back in 2020, I started a blog to promote more sustainable lifestyle by showing my readers my favorites in clean beauty and sustainable fashion tips. It was incredibly rewarding to create content I was passionate about while also building on my marketing expertise. Running my blog and developing a multi-channel marketing plan helped me further develop my content planning, communication with partners/ collaborators, organizing shoots and helped me use data to leverage my digital marketing strategy.

I gained valuable skills in using Pinterest, Facebook, and Instagram as marketing tools to increase my reach. Along with building my expertise on these platforms, I've also familiarized myself with social tools such as Later, Tailwind, Facebook Business Suite, and Google Analytics. Building my blog has also refined my skills in writing SEO-optimized posts, employing data-driven engagement methods for organic growth, taught me how to monitor trends and use research to develop content. Within the past year, I have organically grown my Tiktok following to 11.5k, my Pinterest impressions to 190k and my Instagram following to 23.7k.

All the images to the left are looks that I have styled for my Instagram and blog posts! Take a look at my work by clicking below.

Note: I had to include the time Lily Collins (one of my style inspirations) reshared my DIY Emily In Paris costume because I was so happy* to be recognized.

*happy is an understatement because I practically melted in the plant section of Lowe's when this notification popped up on my phone

projects i've led in the past

I worked with Asian American micro-influencers to create a magazine celebrating our heritage. Through this experience, I worked cross-functionally with a remote team to create prompts for models to write about their experiences as Asian Americans, design our magazine, and coordinated marketing efforts. Our collaboration led to 11k reads on our magazine!

With the recent spike in hate crimes against our community, I believe it is especially important to recognize and amplify the voices of Asian Americans. As marketers, I believe it's especially important to acknowledge & open up discussion surrounding ongoing social issues as they have large impacts on us as individuals, our clients, and in shaping cultural change.

INFLUENCER MARKETING RESEARCH

Creating content through my blog, I am grateful to have networked and worked with influencers such as Alissa Iris, Julia Kong, and JenerationDIY. Inspired by their work and the rise of influencer marketing in the digital age, I conducted an influencer marketing research project for one of my class projects.

My group and I were curious about the impact of influencer marketing on a consumer's purchase decision. So we conducted surveys and interviews to gain more insight.
